Shonna was an exceptional mentor. During our mentorship, I learned the business aspects of taking a film from development through to distribution. Each session was topic-focused based on the learning outcomes I identified in our initial conversation. Shonna provided resources, recommendations, and suggestions on movies and shows to watch, people to reach out to, grants and programs to apply for, and production specific needs for my projects.

 

Shonna is organized and detail-oriented; this was reflected in her pre- and post-meeting notes.  She helped me workshop screenplays for two short films I have in development, one of which received a production grant and is expected to go to camera in 2026. My mentorship with her was fulfilling, and I highly recommend her as both a producer and a mentor for those seeking reliable partnerships in the film and television industry.
